Āke tonu atu - forever more, eternity

$395.00

Dear friend, Kia Ora

This intricate taonga is named Āke tonu atu meaning forever more, eternity. The general premise is that of two manaia set in a circle representing a boundary that protects.

At one level it represents the eternal movements of life and depicts the dance of two becoming one. Where does one end and the other begin?

At another level, the manaia can be viewed as chasing each other. Therefore, this can be interpreted as the ultimate quest for fulfilment.
